We are seeking a qualified Machine Operator & Shift Leader for our first local production unit in the US. Your main responsibilities will include overseeing production and warehousing operations during shifts, managing and guiding the production and warehouse team, adhering to production schedules and ensuring equipment is in optimal condition, providing support to production and warehouse workers when needed, ensuring finished products meet our quality standards, coordinating documentation for shipments with truck drivers, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, managing the Palletonator and technology production settings for quality assurance, and performing the technology production settings for input components such as cardboard and glue.
ASSIGNMENT
Production
- Perform “Go-to-production” check at the beginning of each shift, including key production equipment, such as Palletonator, packaging machine, forklift trucks and pallet stackers
- Setting up the production equipment according to the production schedule and ensure it run smoothly
- Execution of production plans
- In charge of Just-in-time production execution
- Ensure continuous production without stops
- Ensuring all equipment is ready for the subsequent shift, clean and safe for use
- Ensure smooth takeover and transition to the subsequent Shift Leader
- Deliver and replace cold glue containers
- Deliver and top-up hot-glue pellets in the hot-glue containers
- Deliver and replace packaging foil rolls
- Compact and store waste cardboard and plastic in the designated area
- Continuously strive to optimize production processes and search for improvements
- Constantly check the quality of the pallet production process and output pallets
- Coordinate and perform the required settings on HMI to improve the production process
- Perform and optimize the production settings of Palletonator components
- Cooperate with HME and KraftPal in setting up new pallet type to be implemented
Management
- Manage the team of production and warehouse workers that are assigned to work in the same shift
- Organize the work in a shift in a way to ensure highest possible productivity
- Re-assign production workers or warehouse workers to another job position when necessary
- Perform quarterly and yearly inventory analysis and reports
- Provide training for new employees
Maintenance
- Regularly inspect production equipment to diagnose possible malfunctions
- In charge of first level troubleshooting (minimization of downtime)
- Perform regular maintenance according to maintenance schedule/plan
- In case of detected problems with machinery, stop the process and perform repair or inform Production manager in case of major problem
- Prepare and keep records of all stops, malfunctions, and repairs
- Provide reports on production process inefficiencies or sub-optimal performance to Production Manager and subsequent Shift Leader
- Participate and provide support during irregular maintenance process with external maintenance team
- Ensure all equipment is fully charged
Technology part – specific:
- Equipment Optimization:
- Take ownership of production equipment, ensuring it operates at peak efficiency.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams (HME and external partners) to implement preventive maintenance programs
Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with KraftPal quality team to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards.
- Propose and manage implementation of technology-based quality control measures and provide technical support for quality assurance initiatives.
Other
- Adhere to safety management standards
- Report on any possible workplace safety hazard
- Responsible to maintain operations area and equipment safe and clean
- Share knowledge about improvements with colleagues from across KraftPal group
- Report to the Production Manager
COMPETENCES
JOB-SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
- Proficient in operating technical machinery
- Understanding of safety procedures
- Knowledge of commonly used practices and procedures within production operations
- Basic understanding of cardboard production processes and technology
- Basic IT skills, working with RF scanners
- Basic level of English

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- High school diploma or diploma from technical field (Mechatronics, Automation)
- Experience within production of minimum two years
- Good English reading skills, basic English-speaking skills
