Machine Operator-2nd Shift
1:30pm-10pm
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: Perform production on equipment including machine operation activities that do not involve control other than to start, stop or inspect. Typically this involves feeding, sorting or packaging the product. Responsible for machine operation for equipment that will apply material or self-locking devices to fasteners by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Responsible for understanding machine operation.*
2. Monitors production rates.*
3. Inspection. Conduct inspections and/or tests to verify product conformance. Depending on assignment, may work with set-ups (first piece inspection), parts in-process (line inspection), finished product (final inspection), subcontracted parts, or tooling*
4. Problem Resolution. Report nonconformance and, with assistance, determine dispositions and process deviations. Provide input into the resolution of problems.*
5. General assistance. Provide assistance in containment procedures, monitoring of new or difficult parts and removal of all set-up & processing scrap between jobs.*
6. Documentation. Initiate, complete or verify records documenting quality management system activities to assure compliance to internal procedures, customer requirements and ISO 17025/ISO 9001:2000 standards; where applicable*
7. Adheres to safety guidelines.*
8. Adheres to 5S methods and practices.*
9. Follow all procedures, work instructions and forms*
10. All other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designated person

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; and less than one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
Specialized Training:
Feeder bowl operation adjustment experience (Optional)
Equipment, potential to use:
· Fork lift (optional and with training)
· Measurement Gages
· Stop Watch
· Zahn Cup
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:
· Ability to adjust to changing work assignments and conditions
· Knowledge of and experience with electromechanical machine adjustments, motor speeds, feed rates, and identification of machine problems resulting in down time
· Minimal computer skills (optional)

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color. The employee must be able to wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses meeting ANSI Z87 requirements and hearing protection devices.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places, caustic or irritating chemicals, extreme heat (non-weather), and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and may require the use of hearing protection devices.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
