Job Description
Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium & large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.
Position Summary:
This role will primarily operate a CNC lathe, performing machining operations on composite tubes. Secondary duties will include other related process steps upstream and downstream as required. This can include operating other composite processing equipment, loading/unloading ovens, moving materials, etc.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Assist in the development and optimization of machining operations for composite tubes
• Set up CNC lathe for various composite tubes, including changing and setting cutting tools
• Run daily production quantities on CNC lathe
• Recognize and report all operational variances as trained
• Perform general maintenance and checkout of equipment as required
• Perform general daily housekeeping and cleaning of equipment and area to ensure safe working conditions
• Work at various process stations as production needs require
Required Experience & Skills:
• High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required
• 2 years of experience operating CNC machines
• Ability to utilize basic measurement equipment to determine conforming vs non-conforming product
• Experience with manufacturing composite materials preferred
• Ability to accurately read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to be at work on time and on a consistent basis
• Ability to interact and communicate as part of a highly functioning team
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
