Job Description
Primarily responsible for producing an entire customer transaction from digital receipt of data to mailing completed transactions, including file preparation, printing, assembling and mail prep. To operate all equipment engaged in the process which requires a high level of technical competency. Interchangeably for all plant functions including some level of material movement, storage and production.
Essential Position Responsibilities:
Regular attendance is an essential function of this job
Interpret internal work order and specification sheet instructions
Mechanical set-up of inserter and printer machines
Loading and unloading of materials/stock at the inserter machine and/or printer
Operate two to three high speed devices at one time
Diagnose, adjust and repair mechanical failures as they occur on all equipment
Completing all training required by the company
Periodic balancing of mail piece sequence to the work order for accuracy
Operating of auxiliary software and tracking tools
Maintain quality standards based on the company’s Quality Management System
All other duties as assigned
Essential skills and experience:
High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide
Ability to read, write and interpret the English language (customer data, instructions, manuals and procedures)
Ability to lift 55 pounds regularly as well as manually move paper stock weighing up to 800 lbs. (move by twisting, pushing, pulling)
Ability to pass in-house certification training for the operation of the equipment annually.
Ability to understand and interpret instructions, oral and/or written
Ability to stand on feet for most of the shift
Ability to read small print
Reporting to this position: No direct reports
Physical demands and work environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, for eight (8) hours per day and at least five (5) days per week. Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use both hands and fingers to handle loading, unloading and operating of the equipment. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision (ability to read small print), peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work environment: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to the following:
Moving Mechanical Parts
Cleaning fluids & solvents
Oil for lubrication of machine
Paper dust
Moderate to high noise level which may require hearing protection
