A Brief Overview
The saw operator ensures machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with (and can produce materials that conform with) company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards.
What you will do

• Set up and operate any assigned machine in saw area.
• Set up and operate band saw machinery.
• Inspect your own production frequently, using proper gauges or measuring instruments.
• Read the blueprint and fabricate the part per the print specifications.
• Count parts accurately.
• Unload Steel from truck deliveries.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as required.

Education Qualifications

• High School Diploma General Studies Req
• Trade School Certificate Technical Area Pref

Experience Qualifications

• 1-3 years Machine operator experience Preferred

Skills and Abilities

• General math knowledge (Medium proficiency)
• Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams, and blueprints (Medium proficiency)
• Thorough understanding of mechanics and other properties of machines (Medium proficiency)
• Ability to fabricate parts per print specifications (Medium proficiency)
• Must be able to safely use various hand and air tools (Medium proficiency)
