Machine Operator

MS-IL Staffing & Packaging and its local client are NOW HIRING Machine Operators in the Westport, Indiana area!

$19.00 / hour

Shifts: 1st, 6am – 6pm, 12 hour rotating schedule

Machine Operatorsare responsible for the control, operation and production of vial machine. This job requires mechanical aptitude and the ability to read blueprints, use hand tools, and use instruments such as calipers , dial indicators, polariscope, comparator. Set up machines and maintain.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitor the product for dimensional specifications and visual defects
• Interact with quality personnel and packers to communicate acceptability and trending.
• Make adjustments to forming burners , performing units, and finish forming units as required
• Required cleaning and/or replacing tooling and burners as necessary.
• Trains and assists operators.
• Write simple correspondence , record downtime information with reasons, and fill out production forms
• Use all types of gauges to verify dimensions.
• Ensure the vial machine is operating properly and up lo mechanical standards.
• Maintain housekeeping of plant work area.
• Perform job changes at level of Job Grade
• Promote continuous improvement in all areas of the plant including EHS
• Follow the 4 C's outlined in the QMS policy - communication, commitment, continuous improvement, an d customer satisfaction.
• Exemplifies all safety, health and environment rules, company rules, regulations and ISO procedures and work instructions

Job Requirements:

• Must have knowledge of attribute gauges, digital/dial gages, calipers, and auditors paper work.
• Assisting with any hot end job changes able to fill out properly any line clearance forms.
• Knows how to tell if job is EP required and understands EP importance.
• Have a good knowledge of all areas of the auditor's job.
• Hourly test using comparator, polariscope, pH sulfur test and any other analysis required in accordance with the specifications sheet and article. Record results of each on required paperwork
• Exemplifies all safety, health and environment rules, company rules, regulations and ISO procedures and work instructions

Skills:

• Ability to read calipers and dial indicators.
• Ability to chart SPC information.
• Requires a degree of mechanical aptitude. Ability to read prints, calipers, and understands basic metric dimensions.
