For over 100 years, Williams has designed and manufactured quality heating, ventilation, and air conditioning products for both the home and business. Williams offers more fan coil sizes and configurations than any other HVAC company in all of the United States, and we are in transition to become the leading edge hi-tech worldwide supplier of HVAC products. We are currently seeking Machine Operators for our Fabrication Department.
The Machine Operator might work with computer-controlled equipment or more mechanically based machines to make sure they are set up properly, working well, and producing quality product.
Responsibilities:
The Machine Operators responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Reading job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
- Setting stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates
- Observing machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction
- Inspecting product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements
- Perform routine machine maintenance
- Perform general plant clean-up; such as, keeping work area clean and free of debris
- Follow all Safety procedures
- Regular attendance and flexibility to work over time is essential
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to use micrometers, squares, tape measure, and calipers
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Critical Thinking Skills to deal with problems involving variable in standardized situations; understand fundamental flow of shop material and its problems or material handling
- Understanding of the value of team work
