We are currently seeking Machine Operators for our Fabrication Department.
The Machine Operator might work with computer-controlled equipment or more mechanically based machines to make sure they are set up properly, working well, and producing quality product.
Responsibilities:
The Machine Operators responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Reading job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
- Setting stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates
- Observing machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction
- Inspecting product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements
- Perform routine machine maintenance
- Perform general plant clean-up; such as, keeping work area clean and free of debris
- Follow all Safety procedures
- Regular attendance and flexibility to work over time is essential
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to use micrometers, squares, tape measure, and calipers
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Critical Thinking Skills to deal with problems involving variable in standardized situations; understand fundamental flow of shop material and its problems or material handling
- Understanding of the value of team work
