Besse Forest Products Group, headquartered in Gladstone, MI, is one of the leading producers of hardwood lumber, veneer, and plywood in North America operating four sawmills, one lumber concentration yard, three veneer mills, one plywood plant, and employs over 350 people.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Hardwood Green Lumber Sales Representative to join our team. As a Lumber Sales Representative, you will be primarily responsible for promoting and selling our green lumber products, pallet lumber, pallet cut stock, and railroad ties. Other opportunities are in the sale of Industrial Plywood and KD Lumber. Your primary goal will be to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, identify new business opportunities, and achieve sales targets. The position will be located in Northern Wisconsin or the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a strong customer base, actively prospecting for new clients and maintaining relationships with existing ones.
- Understand customers' needs and provide appropriate product recommendations and solutions.
- Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to potential customers.
- Prepare and deliver sales proposals, negotiate terms and conditions, and close sales deals.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction at every stage of the sales process.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including production and logistics, to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Stay current on market trends, competitive products, and industry developments.
- Attend industry events and trade shows to network and generate leads.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record in sales, preferably in the lumber industry or related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers.
- Excellent negotiation and persuasion abilities.
- Results-driven with a strong work ethic and a passion for sales.
- Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of green lumber products and the lumber industry is a plus.
- Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field is preferred but not required.
