JOB TITLE: LPN Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing Services or Assistant Director of Nursing
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include but are not limited to –
- Conduct facility rounds
- Monitor aides assignments
- Supervise medication administration times, and documentation to ensure completion.
- Address medical situations in a timely manner
- Enter orders, and med changes; assist with admissions and medication administration if needed
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- A graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Currently a licensed practical nurse in New York State.
- Experience in a supervisory position of 5+ years REQUIRED.
- Geriatric experience (Preferred).
- Long Term Care (Preferred).
CONTACTS: Daily contacts with professionals, non-professionals, residents/patients, interdepartmental personnel and visitors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Considerable daily walking, sitting and standing, assisting with patients in lifting and moving, writing and finger dexterity.
MENTAL DEMANDS: Mental acuity for multiple decisions. An ability and skill to interpret nursing policies and procedures. Capable of skillfully handling interpersonal relationships.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Constant contact in well lighted and ventilated nursing care unit with usual sights, sounds and odors.
HAZARDS: Usual nursing unit hazards to infection.
POSSIBLE ADVANCEMENT: With appropriate additional formal education to promotion.
SAFETY: Accountable for implementing assigned responsibilities and activities to attain safety goals and objectives by complying with applicable rules and regulations and performing tasks and supervision others in performing tasks in a safe manner.
