- 5 years experience as a Low Voltage Cable Technician.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams of technicians on multi-week projects.
- Experience in pulling & terminating data cables (cat6, fiber, etc.) and basic Low Voltage skills.
- Knowledge and experience with CCTV, Security Systems, and Alarm Systems is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience with Point-of-Sale systems, TV/monitor and media player installations is a plus.
- Knowledgeable in closeouts and MDFs.
- Industry-specific certifications are a huge plus (BICSI, Siemon, Panduit, Belden, Corning).
- Flexible and willing to work on-call, early morning, day, night, and weekend shifts depending on the requirements of the job.
- Available for extensive travel, road warrior.
- Must hold a current valid State required license(s) for Low Voltage/burglar alarm/fire alarm/security/CCTV.
- Available to fly to job sites away from home for up to 8 weeks at a time and may have as little as 1 week of downtime between jobs.
- Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
- Networking infrastructure familiarity (switches vs routers, etc.)
- Experience in conduit installation is a plus.
- Knowledgeable in identifying independent colors and learning color codes.
- Ability to work in cramped spaces.
- Ability to operate a BOOM or scissor lift and work at heights.
- Has basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation with the required insurance.
- Must have knowledge of cabling infrastructure.
- Proficient with the use of smartphones, personal computers, including email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent customer relationship and communication skills; verbal and written.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.
- Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various cabling infrastructure in retail environments.
- Install, terminate, and test Cat6.
- Run Low Voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.
- Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations.
- Installing of cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct.
- Repairing cable poles and towers.
- Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational.
- Troubleshoot issues with cable networks to ensure the proper functioning and to ensure the system meets local, county, state, or federal codes; legal and/or insurance requirements.
- Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by Wachter, our customers, or OSHA.
- Provide regular updates to Project Management on project status and current objectives.
- Lead small crews of 2-8 technicians by providing daily instruction and training.
