Department UITS ENTERPRISE APPLICATIONS (UA-EAPP-IUBLA) Department Information At University Information Technology Services (UITS) we provide the technology, tools, and services you need to succeed. The Enterprise Windows and Azure Administration (EWA) team manages a wide variety of both vended and internally developed web, application, and database servers. EWA also supports CI/CD pipelines, web application and container deployment, management, monitoring, et cetera for a wide variety of Indiana University development teams.

In addition, EWA manages and supports Microsoft Azure and Power Platforms at IU, including Power BI. Job Summary Department Specific Responsibilities Leads and Participate in gathering and documenting requirements from the business stakeholder(s). Consults with stakeholder(s) to define system requirements, problems, and proposals; conducts detailed studies, presents detailed requirements/designs to the stakeholder(s), and obtains agreement and approval for proposed updates/changes.

Designs and supports systems created within the Microsoft Power Platform environment and related technologies. Provides guidance to university departments on the no-code and low code solutions available to them. Researches, designs, and develops prototypes using low code technologies to demonstrate solution capabilities.

Documents systems analysis and programming efforts (changes, new functionality, issue/problem resolution); performs system unit and integration testing and presents final test results to stakeholder(s) and/or leadership. Researches, analyzes and evaluates current technical trends, emerging technologies and standards, new software functionality Ensures that all protocols used in the design and programming of systems are up to date and compliant with university policies and standards. Performs general system administrator and application administration tasks.

General Responsibilities Develops, maintains, and reviews scripts and code used to administer and automate servers and systems; establishes scripts to manage exchanges between development and operations teams. Designs, configures, and installs new systems, including hardware, software, virtual machines, servers, storage and other network devices; creates and maintains a framework for automated test, build, and deployment for applications. Establishes metrics and monitors system configuration(s) to ensure data integrity and optimum system performance metrics are obtained and maintained.

Provides experienced monitoring of systems, using a combination of scripting and system management technologies, including application performance management (APM) and creation of custom monitors; develops internal operations scripts to automate operations team functions and assist with monitoring, patching, etc. Develops strategies for improving design, performance, and availability of systems; provides systems engineers with feedback from business units regarding upcoming technology initiatives. Documents systems to satisfy business continuity, security, inventory, and supportability requirements.

Collaborates with development teams in creating scripts for monitoring, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting various systems. Researches and stays up-to-date with systems administration best practices and automation approaches. Qualifications Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

EDUCATION Required Bachelor's degree (preferably in computer science or related field) WORK EXPERIENCE Required 2 years of experience in network and server administration, scripting, and/or software development Preferred Minimum 6 months experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate Cloud Flows, Power Automate Desktop flows) SKILLS Required Proficient communication skills Maintains a high degree of professionalism Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills Demonstrates a high commitment to quality Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty Highly thorough and dependable Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex problems Working Conditions / Demands This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment.

The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
