Department ENROLLMENT PLANNING & RESEARCH (BL-ARS-IUBLA) Department Information As part of the SPR technology team, this position has as its primary role to develop and support systems related to FYE services, most specifically the New Student Orientation reservation and tracking system. There is an opportunity for both development creativity and interaction with FYE and Enrollment Management services. Most work in systems will be web-based.

As such, web development and database design experience will be valuable. Under the direction of SPR Reporting Services staff, desired roles include supporting tech needs, programming, and troubleshooting for programs within FYE. Other OEM related projects as needed and appropriate may be included.

Job Summary Department Specific Responsibilities Provides analysis and programming related to the design, development, and support of systems. Consults with stakeholder(s) to define system requirements, problems, and proposals; presents requirements/designs to the stakeholder(s) and obtains agreement and approval for proposed updates/changes. Prepares conversion and systems implementation plans and schedules; translates system design to detailed program specifications.

Documents systems analysis and programming efforts (changes, new functionality, issue/problem resolution); performs system unit and integration testing and presents final test results to stakeholder(s) and/or leadership. General Responsibilities Provides experienced design and development for new and existing applications (web, mobile, etc.) in support of business initiatives/operational needs. Consults with stakeholders to review existing applications; provides experienced analysis of business needs and requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints; develops new functionality and/or codes necessary changes/updates/fixes.

Provides technical support for the maintenance and upgrade of applications, including packaging and deployment of releases. Tests application performance and functionality; performs quality assurance checks and fixes bugs accordingly. Documents application development efforts (changes, new functionality, issue/problem resolution).

Collaborates with team leaders, functional clients, and other technical teams on the planning, implementation, and support of new applications; ensures optimum functionality, performance, accessibility, scalability, and security of new and existing applications. Ensures that all protocols used in the development and maintenance of applications are up to date and compliant with university policies and standards; researches and stays up-to-date on new industry development standards, emerging technology, UX/UI design/philosophy, and accessibility standards.
