Lot Attendant/Porter-Mechanic In Training

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Trailer Lot Attendant/Lot Porter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining order and organization within our trailer lot, ensuring the efficient movement and placement of trailers. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

1. Lot Maintenance:

   • Keep the trailer lot clean, organized, and free from debris.
   • Arrange trailers in an orderly manner to maximize space utilization.
   • Perform routine inspections of trailers for damage or maintenance needs.

2. Parking and Retrieval:

   • Assist in the parking and retrieval of trailers as needed.
   • Coordinate with drivers to ensure smooth and timely movement of trailers within the lot.

3. Documentation:

   • Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, noting arrivals, departures, and any issues.
   • Collaborate with the administrative team to update and organize paperwork related to trailer inventory.

4. Customer Service:

   • Interact with drivers and other personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
   • Provide assistance to drivers in locating and parking trailers.

5. Safety Compliance:

   • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
   • Report any safety hazards or concerns promptly to the supervisor.

6. Maintenance Support:

   • Assist maintenance personnel in moving trailers for repairs or servicing.
   • Notify the maintenance team of any trailers in need of attention.

7. Communication:

   • Maintain open communication with the logistics team to ensure the smooth flow of trailer movements.
   • Report any discrepancies, damages, or issues promptly to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform manual labor.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Basic knowledge of trailer operations and maintenance is a plus.
