Atlantic Plywood is looking for a full-time Logistics Supervisor to join our team!
This position assists the Logistics Manager with operational activities in a distribution center environment. Responsibilities include operational excellence and process improvement; ensuring customer expectations are exceeded; and talent acquisition, development, and retention of associates.
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage/Supervise hourly personnel in all operations of the business (i.e. Inbound, Outbound, Inspection, Quality, Inventory, Claims, Shipping, Receiving, Traffic)
- Support and participate in all Six Sigma and Quality initiatives
- Develop, train and motivate hourly warehouse and delivery employees under your direction
- Administer corrective action when appropriate
- Possess excellent follow up skills through assignment completion
- Promote teamwork and resolve labor issues in a timely manner
- Work with your peers and employees toward the location’s goals and realize the big picture
- Ensure all company policies and procedures are enforced
- Ensure adherence to all relevant DOT and OSHA regulations, including maintaining appropriate documentation
- Support and back fill logistics management and teammates when they are on vacation or out of the building
Job Requirements:
- Authorization to work in the US
- High school diploma / GED
- At least 2 years of logistics / distribution management
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and be on feet most of the day
- Comfortability working in a “hands-on” environment
- Ability to use computer systems and apply computer systems knowledge to manage day to day operations
- Must be able to work unsupervised as well as in a team
- Must be able to start early, work late occasionally as needed
- Must have a pre-employment physical, drug test, MVR, and background check upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous supervisory/team lead experience
- Exposure to Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
- Previous voice selecting technology experience
- Previous forklift experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
