The Role:
The Logistics Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting daily Logistics Operations within GM Defense. The position’s focus is to drive operational performance for Inbound Material and Outbound Vehicle Logistics through operational actuals analysis, KPI drivers and cost savings. The Logistics Operations Analyst will work cross functionally with Supply Chain, Plant Material Office, Future Costing, Purchasing, Finance and Logistics Providers (LLP’s) and Carriers to deliver operational performance.
What You'll Do:
Analyze logistics cost drivers and performance, reviewing operational actual versus planned cost to develop action plans to improve performance and explain deviations to plan
Track and identify KPIs to improve cost and operational efficiency
Lead the logistics operational efficiency opportunity identification, project management, cost control and CPU governance activities
Lead the logistics launch process, collaborating cross-functionally with Planning, Suppliers, Plant, Purchasing and Supply Chain to complete key activities in support of flawless launches (optimal design at minimal cost)
Manage daily operational issues within the logistics space
Oversight of Logistics providers
Manage Invoice Approvals
Support Special Projects, Future Program Studies, and other time sensitive requests
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or equivalent education
2+ years of work experience in Logistics and/or Supply Chain management
Ability to lead problem solving activities and manage project timelines
Capability to concurrently manage multiple cost savings operational improvement projects and initiatives
Ability to analyze basic financial data and identify cost drivers
PLEASE NOTE:

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge:
Previous Purchasing experience
Deep Understanding/knowledge of material flow, material department operations, manufacturing processes and departmental relationships
Previous Experience within Defense Industry
Ability to interpret and /or understand financial data
Experience in low volume coordination network optimization
