GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This person will be in charge of providing the strategic leadership of our company’s transportation programs. They will also be responsible for negotiating with service providers, establishing and implementing processes and procedures, problem identification and resolution, reducing costs and improving service.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage daily service execution for all assigned customers throughout the US.
- Perform failed service root cause analysis and implement timely problem resolution.
- Capture all source data for accurate and timely service billing and contractor payment according to company accounting policies.
- Coordinate and directly manage implementation efforts of changes to service assignments (e.g. new client install’s, current client additions, service subtractions, stat calls, will calls, etc.).
- Assist sales associates with info needed to effectively bid on new service opportunities and or otherwise secure new business.
- Price all new RFP’s according to the market rate for the area and review with National Operations Manager.
- Track and trend a series of metrics for each customer to determine items like on time percentage and parcel scanning.
- Travel to new markets to install new work and travel to existing markets to conduct audits of established work.
- Ensure all contractors and agents have been orientated on all SOP's and all required tests and certifications have been completed.
- Respond to customer inquiries outside the scope of normal business hours.
- Ensure that all contractors consistently adhere to all other provisions of the executed service agreement provisions including professional appearance, requirements for uniforms and the wearing of proper Id badges.
- Provide strategic transportation planning direction for a multi-state distribution facility with satellite locations.
- Improve processes focused on efficiency, cost savings, and customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor/Associate degree in transportation or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Prior project management experience preferred.
- Proven planning, scheduling, and communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook.
