Location Manager Of Refund Center

TaxFree Shopping is a Sales Tax Refund Company that offers international travelers the quickest and easiest way to receive their sales tax refund. We are currently seeking Location Manager for our retail refund locations in the Galleria area of Houston, Texas.

This Position will report directly to the Area Manager.

Job Description:

Job Purpose:

A Location Manager applies all managerial functions in a wide scope and is responsible for overall business of the Refund Center(s).

Operations:

• The Location Manager will coach and counsel employees through all aspects of the job with fairness, job knowledge, consistency and by company policy with a Human Resource witness.
• The Location Manager will apply knowledge of company reports, processes, and policy to ensure accuracy and consistency throughout your specified area.
• The Location Manager is responsible for creating schedules for each employee and staffing for each location and special event. Requests for time off will be reviewed and decided by the Area Manager.
• The Location Manager will ensure proper training of new hires by conducting orientation, setting up training schedule and following new hires trajectories for the first 90 days and thereafter. The Location Manager will also need to spend time working with that employee in their first 90 days.
• The Location Manager will reinforce company procedures, company policy and customer service expectations to all active employees through staff meetings and continuous OTJ training.
• The Location Manager will lead by example. Location Managers are expected to process alongside their employees following all proper processes, procedures, policies and submit accurate reports.
• Location Managers will provide positive reinforcement to coworkers and location staff.
• The Location Manager will attend weekly conference calls and ensure all locations they manage are represented.
• The Location Manager will be expected to attend the manager conference calls and marketing conference calls as they are set.
• The Location Manager is responsible for the Refund Centers’ well-being of property including the curb appeal and functionality of the location and all company property. (see company property and equipment policy).
• The Location Manager will provide continuous communication with manager and corporate management, ensuring their Area Manager is in the loop and including corporate management when necessary.
• The Location Manager will communicate supply, marketing or equipment needs to the Area Manager or appropriate corporate contact.
• The Location Manager will complete and submit routine monthly spot checks or as requested by corporate.
• The Location Manager is expected to have a healthy pulse on the business and should be able to answer specific questions about the Refund Center(s).
• Location Managers are expected to assist with potential shift coverage, as well as being available for holidays, whether they are regularly scheduled or not.
• Location Managers are full time employees, averaging 40 hours per week.

Marketing:

• The Location Manager will help in marketing efforts and will complete any marketing task as directed by the Area Manager including but not limited to; visiting participating retailers on a regular basis & stocking them with up to date materials, attending morning meetings.
• The Location Manager may be asked to attend special events in their area (i.e. shopping center and/or community events, greeting groups) as directed by corporate.
• Foster relationships with retailers and business partners creating a TFS presence for the retailers and mall management.

Policy:

• The Location Manager will be competent in communication with all departments from appointed staff to direct report, owners and Human Resources.
• The Location manager will follow the appropriate chain of command when reporting issues, asking questions, etc.
• The Location Manager will report any and all personnel issues, employee reports or employee reports of harassment of any kind directly to Human Resources. At no point will an area manager conduct their own investigation or collect information from involved parties on behalf of the company.
• The Location Manager will not conduct private one-on-one conversations with subordinates without a witness. (i.e. warnings, counselings, conversations of a sensitive subject or nature).
• The Location Manager will contact Human Resources for how to proceed with employee issues before taking action in their own hands.
• The Location Manager will follow the onboarding process and will not start an employee until authorization has been received from Human Resources or an owner.
• The Location Manager will view, understand and verify all reports submitted by employees to corporate.
• The Location Manager will focus on hiring qualified individuals that meet our standards with special consideration given to candidates that can speak more than one language fluently. The Location Manager can always reach out for hiring help to Human Resources.
