Job description

As a Mortgage Servicer, you will be responsible for a broad range of tasks related to the processing and continued maintenance of mortgage loans. You will establish and manage escrow accounts, provide support and assistance to members regarding their mortgage accounts, and perform loan modifications. Additionally, you will support HMDA data verification, reporting, and process improvements.


Essential Functions:

  • Loan Administration: Manage all aspects of the mortgage loan after it has been originated, including processing payments, maintaining accurate records, loan modifications, and handling escrow accounts for taxes and insurance.
  • Member Service: Provide support and assistance to members regarding their mortgage accounts, including answering questions, addressing concerns, and helping with any issues that may arise during the life of the loan.
  • Reporting: Provide accurate and timely reports to key stakeholders and regulators, as required, including loan performance and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Fraud Detection and Due Diligence: Participate in fraud due diligence to detect and prevent potentially fraudulent activities. Stay vigilant for red flags and anomalies in loan applications. Collaborate with management and internal subject matter experts to implement mitigation strategies.
  • Quality Assurance and Control (QA/QC): Supports mortgage underwriters and processors to confirm the accuracy of loan documentation and ensure compliance with approval conditions, regulations and applicable laws pre and post loan closing for all externally and internally originated mortgages.
  • Compliance and Knowledge: Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and mortgage lending laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Stay updated on mortgage regulations and ensure compliance with RESPA, TILA, HMDA, ECOA, and other applicable regulations. Maintain a strong knowledge of company lending policies and guidelines to make service loans effectively. Ensure that all servicing activities adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
Experience, Education & Credentials:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Requires a minimum of two years of previous experience in a Loan Servicing related field.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of mortgage regulations, including but not limited to RESPA, TILA, HMDA and ECOA, is essential for this position.
  • Proficiency in escrow analysis and loan modification processes preferred.
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
