Essential Functions: Loan Officer
- Approve loans within specified limits, and refer loan applications outside those limits to Director’s
- Loan Committee for approval.
- Meet with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the
- process, credit options available and terms.
- Analyze applicants’ financial status, credit and property evaluations to determine feasibility.
- Obtain and compile copies of loan applicant’s credit histories, corporate financial statements, etc.
- Review loan agreements to ensure they are complete and accurate under policy.
- Ensure each loan submitted has the required paperwork, tickets, signatures, etc., to reduce loss and improve efficiency in processing. Each officer works his/her own exceptions.
- Submit applications to credit analysts for verification and recommendation when necessary.
- Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them.
- Negotiate payment arrangements with customers who have delinquent loans.
- Promote bank products and services that meet customers’ needs.
- Actively participate in business development by analyzing potential loan markets, developing
- referral networks and calling on current and potential customers.
