Essential Functions: Loan Officer

• Approve loans within specified limits, and refer loan applications outside those limits to Director’s
• Loan Committee for approval.
• Meet with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the
• process, credit options available and terms.
• Analyze applicants’ financial status, credit and property evaluations to determine feasibility.
• Obtain and compile copies of loan applicant’s credit histories, corporate financial statements, etc.
• Review loan agreements to ensure they are complete and accurate under policy.
• Ensure each loan submitted has the required paperwork, tickets, signatures, etc., to reduce loss and improve efficiency in processing. Each officer works his/her own exceptions.
• Submit applications to credit analysts for verification and recommendation when necessary.
• Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them.
• Negotiate payment arrangements with customers who have delinquent loans.
• Promote bank products and services that meet customers’ needs.
• Actively participate in business development by analyzing potential loan markets, developing
• referral networks and calling on current and potential customers.
