THE POSITION

We are looking for friendly, motivated individual to help deliver outstanding customer care in the fast-paced environment of our Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores! If you are interested in food and wine pairing, assisting customers, and opportunities to share and expand your knowledge, this would be an excellent opportunity for you!


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Liquor Store Clerk 2, you will be a lead shift worker with responsibilities that include overseeing other clerks and assisting them with daily tasks. You will assign and review work, provide on-the-job training to your team on store tasks and policies, and participate in the performance of routine duties. This includes customer service, ringing sales on the cash register, unloading shipments, stocking shelves, building displays, and cleaning the store. You will also complete specific lead worker tasks such as completing accounting and inventory reports, resolving product-related issues, and overseeing cash management to help keep the store running smoothly.
Routine store duties will be performed independently, and you will have the opportunity to seek guidance and support from the manager or assistant manager in new or unusual circumstances. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 75 hours biweekly
  • Work hours vary between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM, Sunday - Saturday
  • Salary: The starting salary for this position for new Commonwealth employees is fixed at the minimum salary listed above and is not negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Liquor Store Clerk 1 or Intermittent Liquor Store Clerk (commonwealth titles); or
  • Six months of retail sales work.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
