Liquid Penetrant /Magnetic Particle/ Visual testing Inspector
Job Description:
We are seeking qualified Liquid Penetrant Inspectors to join our team in a shop environment for performing MT inspections on structural welds. The role involves inspecting and analyzing information obtained from NDT equipment, with occasional climbing, crawling, and performing minor grinding for relevancy checks during inspections.
Qualifications:
- NDT Level II Certification: Certified to ASNT's SNT-TC-1A Level II requirements or later, demonstrating proficiency in written theory, practical exams, and visual acuity tests.
- Experience: Minimum 4 years of continuous experience performing inspections in the applicable method(s) within the past 9 months, with documented certification and training records available.
- Safety Qualifications: Must be Safety Harness and Respirator qualified, with familiarity with OSHA regulations related to shipbuilding.
Required Safety Training & Qualifications:
- Candidates must have completed safety training and possess medical clearances in the following areas, with documentation provided by the Leased Labor Provider Company:
- Confined Space Entry
- Hazard Communication
- Respirator Training and Fit Testing
- Fall Protection/4-D Body Harness-Vertical & Horizontal Lifelines-Beam Clamp
Physical Requirements:
Candidates should be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing vertical ladders, crawling in tanks and confined spaces, and should not be afraid of heights. PPE training in various aspects is necessary to meet the demanding physical work effort.
Additional Information:
- Yardwide access may be required.
- The position might involve travel within Newport News, VA.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) meeting OSHA and ANSI requirements is mandatory.
