POSITION DESCRIPTION

- LOCATION: 2425 E. Oquendo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89120
- REPORTS TO: Food & Beverage Manager
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Food and Beverage Manager, the Cook will assist in preparing meals, kitchen safety and food prep. The Cook is also to assist in ensuring all prepared food meets quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items.
- Assist in preparing meals and meal prep.
- Assist in maintaining food inventories.
- Assist in proper food storage and appropriate food temperatures.
- Assist in rotating food stock and stock items.
- Assist in restocking kitchen supplies.
- Assist in keeping food prep area and kitchen area clean and sanitized.
EDUCATION, EXPERIANCE, SKILLS & ABILITES
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation and existing health and safety standards.
- 2+ years of experience as a cook.
- Solid understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and related processes.
- Able to work in a warm, humid environment and stand for up to 8-hour shifts.
- Judgment, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Advanced ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.

- Ensure strong collaborative relationships within the organization and provide necessary support to ensure solid relationships externally, to foster and consistently elevate the quality of service to our employees.

- Interact and involve yourself in the organizational business and learn the various organizational practices and culture.
- Availability to work 12 months per year.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Capability to establish the appropriate boundaries while developing and nurturing supportive relationships with staff and board members.
- Ability to educate a variety of interested parties about the program by developing ongoing relationships and making both formal and informal presentations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Close vision required to see computer monitor, read documents, and operate copy and fax machine. Distance vision is required to drive an automobile if driving is a requirement of the job.

- Moderate noise levels as found in a business office with computer printers, households with TVs and dishwashers, and driving light traffic.
