Job Description
We are looking for a professional prep and Line Cook , following our Chef{s) specifications and guidelines. The successful candidate will employ their culinary skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers’ satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Help in the preparation and design of all food menus
Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
Be part of at team that ensures that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
Work with the Restaurant and executive chef on Ala Carte and Banquets where necessary
Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
Communication is key along with asking questions
Understanding farm to fork menus, small and larger banquet production is preferred
Assist in ordering supplies to stock inventory appropriately
Let chef know if product is low and not out
Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Maintain all cleanliness of the kitchen spaces
Skills
Proven experience as a Prep and Line Cook in a quality restaurant and banquet environment
Strong ability to multitask and focus
Open mind on creativity and can take direction from Chef at the same time being a self-starter
Proven Expediting capability
Ability to understand both ala cart restaurant needs as well as banquets
Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Knowledge of Sous Vide cooking techniques a plus
Must work well with others
Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
