Salary1. NYS Veterinary Technician's License: A valid New York State Veterinary Technician's license is a mandatory requirement for this role. (Please include a copy of the License/Certificate in the Candidate Submittal)

3. Animal Handling and Adaptability: The ability to lift and manage animals weighing up to 50 pounds, handle various species (including birds, reptiles, and exotic mammals), and adapt to a fast-paced, 24/7 hospital environment is crucial.
Additionally, candidates should be skilled at establishing effective, respectful working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and be capable of remaining composed in stressful and emergency situations.
As a vital member of the team, your role is dedicated to providing exceptional and compassionate care to patients of the Internal Medicine service from the moment of admission through their discharge. Your responsibilities extend to offering crucial support to veterinarians during clinical hours, including client communications.
In addition to patient care, you play an integral part in providing anesthesia and surgical support, as well as post-operative recovery for patients. Proficiency in essential tasks such as blood draws, peripheral catheter placements, and sample submissions is essential. You are also responsible for operating and maintaining surgical and anesthetic equipment, ensuring their functionality.
Effective and professional communication with clients and referring veterinarians is a fundamental aspect of your role. Beyond clinical responsibilities, you are encouraged to actively participate in educational and research projects with a focus on Internal Medicine, contributing to the growth and advancement of the service.
