Our client is seeking a Licensed Surveyor for their Gaithersburg or Baltimore, MD office. The position will be responsible for supervising all surveys and SUE services performed at the company. The Licensed Surveyor will be involved in proposal preparation, correspondence with clientele, scheduling, project status reports, and quality control. The Licensed Surveyor will manage and supervise the activities as well as mentor and advise an eager survey team. The Licensed Surveyor will ensure that services are conducted in accordance with client requirements and with accepted surveying standards.
Services will involve various tasks: boundary, right-of-way, easement, topographic, construction, subsurface utility locations, as-built, global positioning system (GPS), and Lidar Scanning support work.
Qualifications
- High School / GED
- College degree preferred
- 10+ years experience with Land Surveying
- 3+ years experience in managing and mentoring a team.
- Must be a Licensed Maryland Professional Land Surveyor or Property Line Surveyor
- Preferred licenses for Virginia, District of Columbia, West Virginia, and Delaware or ability to take exams and secure those in 3-6 months.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely
- The ability to work with and mentor a team
- Ability to obtain security and safety certifications
- Must be able to pass drug screening and background checks
- Positive attitude and professionalism
- MDOT-SHA experience required, MDSHA Plat experience is preferred.
- VDOT, WVDOH, DELDOT, DC DOT experience preferred
- Knowledge of Trimble Equipment and software preferred
