The schedule is anticipated to be weekdays only, evenings (10a-8p) (Group hours are anticipated to be M-Th 4:15pm-7:15pm).

Job Summary and Qualifications

This position is in IOP for a middle school aged program (ages 11 to 13). 
The schedule is anticipated to be weekdays only, on evenings (group hours are anticipated to be M-Th 4:15pm-7:15pm). 

The Adolescent Social Worker/Therapist (Mental Health Professional III) role will deliver exceptional psychiatric treatment to patients and their loved ones. The position prioritizes the satisfaction of their patients by offering patient-centered and high-quality care. The responsibilities include evaluations, psycho-education, group activities, planning for treatment, mapping out discharge, and providing therapeutic counseling help. They work to produce positive outcomes for their patients by using verified techniques in one-on-one, family, and group counseling sessions.

What will you do in this role:

• Maintains effective communication with patients, families, multidisciplinary teams, and continuum of care providers.
• Maintains professionalism and uses good communication skills to interact with peers, staff, patients, and families, and resolve conflicts.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to maintain clear professional boundaries with peers, patients, and families.
  Provides education and guidance about state commitment processes, abuse reporting requirements, the duty to warn, and guardianship processes.
• Demonstrates knowledge and role in hospital codes.
• Serves as an educational resource to patients, families, interdisciplinary team members, payer representatives, and other parties as appropriate about behavioral services.
• Reviews, coaches, and helps with the training of new staff/interns as assigned within approved practice and program guidelines. Participates in developing department goals and clinical programming.
• Performs utilization review as assigned.
• Helps with Process and Quality Improvement initiatives.

What qualifications you will need:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Therapy, or similar education in which appropriate licensure can be obtained required

• One of the following Florida licenses required:

• • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); or
  • Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT); or
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with psychiatric clients required
• Experience in psychiatric outpatient setting preferred
• Experience with adolescent group therapy preferred
