Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

The Electrician will be supporting the implementation and management of the Quality Control Program. In addition, you will be required to perform the three phases of control, perform submittal review and approval, ensure testing is performed, and provide QC certification and documentation required in this contract or subsequent task orders.

This is an onsite based position with routine travel, CONUS and OCONUS, to support construction projects and site surveys. Current construction locations are Naval Satellite and Communications Facility (NSCF) Northwest Annex (NWA), Chesapeake, VA; Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL, and NCTAMS LANT DET, Cutler, ME.

Initially, this is a four-month contract with potential to become a full-time employee depending on work performance.The budget for this role ranges from $40 to $50 per hour (range varies depending on experience and qualifications). The candidate must have a secret clearance. 

Key responsibilities:    

  • Perform the three phases of control, perform submittal review and approval, ensure testing is performed
  • Supervise inspections, reports, and the documentation issued by inspectors and collect and file the required Quality Records
  • Responsible for the execution of the submittal process
  • Support the construction roles in the management and control of subcontractors
  • Review and approve project reports and designs
  • Provide support and leadership to the site team
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. 

Qualifications To be successful in the role: 

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must hold a minimum U.S. Government SECRET clearance
  • Must be a Licensed Electrician 
  • Must have a minimum of 7 years (within the last ten years) of combined experience as Superintendent, Project Manager, or Project Engineer and at least 3 years's experience as QCM on construction projects, with preference provided for critical power system installation projects
  • Completed U.S. Corps of Engineers “Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors” course and maintain a current course certificate
  • Must be familiar with the USACE EM 385-1-1 requirements and experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English. Experience in preparing correspondence, written reports, and maintaining official project records. Experience in conducting meetings, and briefing clients and management personnel
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
  • Must lawfully reside in the United States and be eligible for employment (Planate does not sponsor visas or work permits)
