Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake evaluations and assessments for patients referred by various sources, including security, healthcare staff, and community sources, and make appropriate recommendations for further care, including referrals for involuntary treatment or specialized housing/observation.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including individual and group therapy, psychoeducational groups, and substance abuse counseling, based on clinical findings and patient needs, and ensure regular updates in accordance with local policy.
- Provide crisis intervention and suicide prevention interventions as needed, assess for suicide risk, and provide consultation to security and healthcare staff on patients' behaviors, safety concerns, and mental health concerns.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, classification meetings, and other required administrative meetings, as well as CQI and QA studies, and provide staff training on relevant mental health topics.
- Document findings, diagnosis, treatment course, and other required documentation in patients' health records, and ensure compliance with Facility and company policies and procedures, including safety and mental health policies.
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or related field.
- One (1) or more years of experience in a Mental Health treatment program, preferably in a Correctional or Hospital setting.
- Licenses/Certifications.
- Licensed or license eligible as a Master’s Social Worker by the Social Work Licensing Board.
