Qualifications:
Possess a Master's degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related behavioral science field.
No additional certifications beyond Basic Life Support are required.
Minimum of one year of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker within the last three years.
Board Certification: None required.
Licensure/Registration: Possess a current unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in one of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Duties:
Provide services within the scope of competencies, applicable duties in the basic contract, and additional responsibilities.
Provide direct and indirect services to both inpatients and outpatients.
Develop and implement discharge plans, follow-up care, and transfers to other healthcare facilities, such as nursing homes, rehabilitation hospitals, and VA facilities.
Offer crisis intervention services.
Independently respond, using various media, to appropriate military and community requests for lectures and presentations.
Take the initiative to seek out opportunities to present programs that meet the needs of service members and their families.
Develop and maintain working relationships with community resources.
Coordinate with teachers, lawyers, physicians, and representatives of other service disciplines for the benefit of service members and their families.
Take initiative in identifying and assessing the needs of the military community and organize responses to address those needs.
