This position is part-time at 19.50 hours per week and is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

- Two years of customer service experience
- High School diploma or GED
- A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
- Experience with library-related automation systems and databases
- Experience working or volunteering in a public library
- Experience assisting customers with online account payments and account management
- Bilingual skills in Spanish and English
- Issue, verify, and renew library cards and inform customers of their account status
- Resolve customer concerns by phone, in person, or e-mail and refer escalated customer concerns to appropriate staff members or supervisors
- Assist customers with the self-service payment kiosk and answer reference questions
- Process library materials for shelving and routing and assist with maintenance and display of the collection
- Light cleaning duties, such as dusting, straightening, and bathroom tidying
- Initiate search for materials claimed “returned
- Library environment with a varied work schedule, requiring evening and weekend availability
- Ability to cover shifts at nearby County library branches
- Ability to lift 20 pounds floor-to-waist, lift 5 pounds waist to shoulder, lift 1 pound shoulder-to-overhead, carry 10 pounds a distance of 50 feet, and push/pull 50 pounds a distance of 100 feet
