WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Code, classify, and catalog books, publications, films, audio-visual aids, and other library materials based on standard library classification systems.
- Compile and maintain records relating to circulation, materials, and equipment.
- Conduct library information and orientation sessions for patrons and assist users in performing manual, online and interactive media reference searches.
- Locate and order literature available for interlibrary loan in local, regional, and national networks upon patron request.
- Review and evaluate materials using book reviews, catalogs, faculty recommendations, and current holdings to recommend acquisition of books, periodicals and audio-visual, interactive media and other materials for inclusion in library collection; verify and maintain bibliographical data for materials.
- Search standard reference materials, including online sources and the Internet, to answer patrons' reference questions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred Associate's Degree
- Required High School Diploma/GED
- 2 years Library technology Preferred
