Job Description
East View is a leading provider of native and translated foreign language information products and services, including Russian, Chinese, and Arabic databases, print periodicals, books and microforms. We serve all geographies and many market segments, including academic institutions, government organizations, corporations, public and federal libraries and law firms.
Within Technical Services workflow, the Cataloger/Metadata Specialist will review/fulfill shelf-ready projects for a variety of academic customers. Materials and bibliographical data will be in languages other than English.
This person must be a self-starter, with solid communication skills and a focus on quality and detail-orientated work. Must be able to organize and prioritize the workload, ensuring deadlines and goals are met.
Some training in our Minnetonka headquarters will be required in-person. After training, remote work will be possible, with a preference for at least 2 day a week in the office.

Responsibilities:
- Review MARC per customer requirements
- Provide support on shelf-ready projects and book physical processing
- Review/update and fulfill Shelf-ready workflows
- Conduct complex open-source research
- Develop and maintain partnership/business relations with partners/suppliers
- Providing customer service and problem resolution with librarians
Qualifications:
- MLIS from an ALA accredited library school (or significant coursework related to cataloging) preferred; or work equivalent.
- Good working knowledge of the principles and procedures of professional library workincluding methods, practices, and techniques of library cataloging and classification
- Some familiarity with various ILS (integrated library system)
- Experience using and navigating databases and systems
- Strong attention to detail especially rules-sets for bibliographic data
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to complete short-term projects with tight deadlines
- Desire to learn new skills related to the role including new software
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees
- Ability to supervise projects, and/or other employees should the opportunity necessitate
- Foreign language is a plus, but not required
