We are growing and are in search of experienced Liability and Property Claims Examiners to join our team!
This is an in-office position; located in Pinellas Park, Florida.
Our Liability and Property Claims Examiners employ a high level of customer service to our policyholders by empathetically handling each claim and working as efficiently with focus customer service. Our Liability and Property Claims Examiners also have direct responsibility for handling homeowners and general liability property damage, bodily injury, personal injury and medical payment claims from initial claims set up through final resolution of the claim, including litigation.

- This is a full-time salary/exempt position with a starting salary range of $60,000-85,000 based on experience.

What will you be doing?
- Interpret and apply policy coverage to loss for low to intermediate severity level claims.
- Communicate policy coverage and benefits to our customers.
- Investigate and document cause of loss and area of origin.
- Take recorded statements of all parties involved, including witnesses.
- Create, review, and/or approve estimates for the cost of repair or replacement of damaged or destroyed property – Desk Adjust with Xactimate.
- Report findings of investigation, coverage interpretation and damage estimates to company through proprietary system and maintain active and current diaries.
- Negotiate successfully with insureds, contractors, and vendors; may interact with public adjusters and attorneys under close supervision.
- Comply with all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and document subrogation opportunities; Identify and address salvage of damage or destroyed items.
- Identify and investigate questionable and possible fraudulent activity.
- Comply with all service standards and guidelines of our organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate will possess:
- Valid Florida Adjusters License
- At least two years of professional experience in Homeowners P&C claims handling (five years preferred)
- Associate’s degree or other industry-recognized designation(s) (e.g. CPCU, AIC, SCLA,) - Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Excellent time management, organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills – Bi-lingual Spanish (preferred)
- Intermediate level understanding of residential construction (preferred)
- Maintain currently active adjuster license and complies with continuing education (“CE”) requirements
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office© products
- Experience using Xactimate© and Xactanalysis© (preferred)
Additional Info:
Our office is located at 7785 66th St. N, Pinellas Park, FL 33781 in the Richard and Evelyn Jerger Building. This position is an in-office position. Typical Office hours are 8:30-5:00 pm Monday-Friday; however, slight variations in schedule can be accommodated.
Physical requirements:
This position is in an office environment and would require:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50%- 75% of the time
- The person in this role needs to occasionally move about inside the building to access office machinery and support team members
- Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine, phone/headset, and key board.
