We are currently seeking an Underwriting Consultant with strong technical experience in commercial property to join our Corporate Underwriting Team. The consultant will develop our Property Underwriting strategy, improve our technical Property Underwriting capabilities and position our property lines of business for improved growth and profitability.
The selected candidate will:
- Establish and ensure adherence to risk appetite, risk selection, coverage analysis, underwriting guidelines and underwriting authority for Property risks including Inland Martine and Agribusiness Property.
- Create consistency in underwriting and pricing decisions and enhance monitoring standards to assess underwriting results.
- Provide strategic and operational objectives to impact Property Underwriting results in support of corporate plans.
- Manage authority and referrals for Property lines of business. Provide subject matter expertise and support for complex referrals.
- Manage Property CAT strategy including accumulation management, geographic exposure analysis and proper CAT risk pricing.
- Work with reinsurance team to assist in placement as needed.
- Acquire and leverage market intelligence to compare to peers’ and ensure a competitive fit for our agency customers.
- Work with Product leadership to develop new product ideas and review coverage language.
- Improve technical excellence in Property Underwriting, working with Underwriting Leaders to identify and resolve training needs, product and services enhancements and ensure a local presence of Property Underwriting excellence.
This position will be located preferably in our Sarasota, FL corporate office with a hybrid schedule (2 days remote/3 days in office). Other location options include Lake Mary, FL; Lawrenceville, GA; Richardson, TX or Carmel, IN.
