Summary
This is a bargaining unit position with AFGE Local 228.
This is not a (drug) testing designated position (TDP).
This position is located in the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Field Operations (OFO), Region VI, in Euless, TX. The incumbent will provide input into the development of the Strategic Lender Marketing Plan (SLMP) and plays a defined role in its implementation and the achievement of the District Office Goals and Objectives.

Duties
As Lender Relations Specialist, GS-1101-11/12, you will be responsible for:
  • Conducting required face-to-face lender visits with individual lending institutions for the purpose of delivering SBA loan programs and services in the District and in accordance with the Strategic Lender Marketing Plan (SLMP) as prepared by the Supervisor/Team Lead.
  • Conducting or participating required face-to-face lender visits with individual lending institutions for the purpose of delivering SBA loan programs and services in the District and in accordance with the Strategic Lender Marketing Plan (SLMP) as prepared by the Supervisor/Team Lead.
  • Providing assistance through consultative and customer interactions with lenders (one-on-one) including credible or serviceable telephone calls (inquiries/self-initiated), emails (inquires/self-initiated), meetings and lender office drop-in visitors regarding SBA loan programs and services in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Reviewing and evaluating a small business client as it relates to eligibility, credit readiness and range of financing options.
  • Providing technical information and education regarding the SBA's access to capital programs to small businesses and other interested organizations and stakeholders.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience (GS-11):
One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following duties with minimal supervision:
  1. assisting in commercial or business loan proposal development, packaging, and structuring; and
  2. assisting with marketing lending programs and services to external customers through outreach activities; and
  3. assisting with conducting formal training or professional development; and
  4. assisting with the growth and development of a customer base; and
  5. using a variety of software applications and technologies in all aspects of the job.

Specialized Experience (GS-12):
One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following duties independently:
  1. in commercial or business loan proposal development, packaging, and structuring; and
  2. marketing lending programs and services to external customers through outreach activities; and
  3. conducting formal training or professional development; and
  4. in the growth and development of a customer base; and
  5. using a variety of software applications and technologies in all aspects of the job.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on 01/08/2024.
Education
If you do not meet the specialized experience requirements, you may also qualify with education. You MUST submit transcripts (official or unofficial) with this application if you wish to qualify based on education.
Education (GS-11):
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Transcripts (official or unofficial must be submitted in support of this response. If selected, official transcripts will be required.

Combination of Experience and Education (GS-11):
Combination of education and experience as specified above. For example, an applicant who has 1.5 full years of Ph.D. level education (i.e. 50% of education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level as described above (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equate to 100% of the required experience for the position. Transcripts (official or unofficial must be submitted in support of this response. If selected, official transcripts will be required.
Education (GS-12): Education may not be substituted for experience for this position.
