This position will be part of a team that provides litigation and Investigations-related advice, guidance, and support to HSBC North America Holdings Inc.’s operating subsidiaries in the United States. The attorney will manage a portfolio of matters involving the company; direct outside counsel where applicable; and partner with various other functions across the HSBC enterprise to manage risk and protect the company. This position will be hybrid working out of our offices located in either Chicago, IL; New York, NY; Washington, D.C.; or Buffalo, NY; but is potentially remote.

You will be responsible for:
- Managing a docket of litigation and contentious matters with a focus on consumer finance and mortgage-related disputes, mostly in defense of HSBC, and conducting root cause analysis and reporting on the docket of cases.
- Managing legal risk across various HSBC Lines of Business and/or Functions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Providing commercially sensitive, pragmatic and practical legal support and advice in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Developing and maintaining positive and professional working relationships with all team members within Legal and colleagues in the business lines and functions.
- Ensuring key stakeholders are fully briefed on major issues arising in relevant business area and major legislative changes in impacting HSBC from a legal risk/litigation risk standpoint.
For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $136,300.00 and $204,400.00.
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
