DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Legal Assistant 1 performs clerical duties in the Office of Administrative Law Judge. You will type orders and decisions for the administrative law judges. The Legal Assistant 1 is a rewarding position because it serves an important role in ensuring that due process and justice is provided to the public. The Office of Administrative Law Judge is a rewarding place to work because of the dynamic interaction between judges, attorneys, support staff, other bureaus, and the public.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: Part-time work from home (telework) may be a potential feature of this position. You will be required to report to the headquarters worksite daily, unless eligibility requirements have been met and telework has been approved. Management may discontinue any telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh.
  • To be eligible to participate in telework, your alternate (telework) worksite must be located within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and within reasonable travel distance to Pittsburgh. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Three years of responsible clerical, enforcement or investigative work; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
