The Learning and Organizational Development Coordinator will support our staff in accelerating their growth to more fully reach their potential as well-rounded professionals. This team member's primary responsibility will be to partner with others to increase Learning and Organizational Development (L+OD) support for staff across the globe through delivering and administering learning programs and platforms. The person in this role will work closely with a wide range of staff, including program participants, subject matter experts, program executive sponsors, our CHRO, our Equity Diversity & Inclusion Officer, coaches, and other members of L+OD and the broader Human Resources (HR) team.
Recognizing that most learning comes through project work and relationships, Thornton Tomasetti's L+OD group focuses on shortening the learning curve and/or helping to create a common foundation across the organization in key areas identified by firm leadership within the six buckets of: Culture/Engagement, Technical, Project-Management/Finance/Business, Business-Development/Sales, People/Leadership, and Compliance. We often provide resources, structure, additional scaffolding, logistical coordination, and other support to empower TT staff to teach/coach/mentor and learn-from one another. In our work, we emphasize curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement in the efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability of our programs through innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the firm's cultural onboarding program, including program administration, welcoming new hires to the firm, developing trusting relationships, responding to new-hire questions, and collaborating to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Manage the content and operations of the firm-wide Workday learning management system, including: oversee and troubleshoot employee inquiries regarding system functionality, usage, and application; upload and remove courses (internal and third-party vendors); oversee the tracking of employee training completion rates; manage the tracking of instructor-led training; and manage external vendor relationships related to the learning management system.
- Support individual pods within three existing career-development group coaching programs.
- Provide logistical, text editing, and data management/analysis support for other L+OD programs, such as weekly Thornton Tomasetti University webinars.
- Process L+OD invoices and CHRO expenses while maintaining appropriate records and confidentiality of information.
Requirements:
- Degree in education, organizational psychology, human resources management, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Effective communication (written and verbal), collaboration, cultural awareness, emotional intelligence (self-management, relationship management, empathy, influence), adaptability, and developing trusting relationships.
- Ability to organize your tasks/schedules and make decisions independently. Proficient at data management/analysis and with Microsoft productivity applications.
- Preferred: Experience working in Learning and Organizational Development, HR, or a similar role. Experience working in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry or another professional services field.
