The annual base salary for this position ranges from $88,800.00 in our lowest geographic market to $199,700.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience.

Who we are looking for
We're looking for an expert Communications Professional to join our team in New York City, NY.
You will support enterprise communications for Jordan Brand, serving as a strategic and executional team member. Cultivating collaboration across the team and fostering effective partnerships is a must. You will boldly prioritize and drive integrated strategies across the Enterprise, including Consumer + Marketplace, Executive, and Employee communications. You will have a global mentality, strong strategic instincts, exceptional relationship skills, and be able to handle ambiguity to work across the matrix. You value differences and have experience building communications strategies around employee engagement that complement brand moments. You are experienced with new media platforms and integrate them into strategies, constantly testing and iterating. Being savvy in virtual and hybrid physical/digital experiences and bring ideas for demonstrating new formats to reach global employee audiences in creative ways is very valuable. You have been consistently responsible for integrating communications plans with key partners and leaders to build trust and positive working relationships. Your connection to basketball culture and the Black Community is authentic, and part of how you experience the world as a global citizen. This professional is excited to create some magical moments for employees centered around sport, athletes and our purpose.
What you will work on

  • Managing external issues related to Jordan Brand corporate reputation, working in close partnership with the Nike Intelligence Center, and agency partners.
  • Develop pro-active plans that help to reframe key narratives and enhance the perception of Jordan Brand and it's leadership team.
  • Continuing to develop Jordan Brand's growth narrative, as a key driver of growth for the enterprise.
  • Find innovative ways to storytell around the global growth of Jumpman doors, partnering with the Direct and Marketplace teams to develop messaging and winning strategies.
  • Manage the day-to-day function of our agency partnerships.
  • Build seasonal and annual editorial plans that highlight priority themes around growth.
  • Lead and execute strategies to engage Jordan Brand leader voices using traditional, digital and social media platforms with a focus on craft and compelling storytelling.
  • Creating executive briefing documents and talking points for a variety of engagements (internal and external)
  • Build strategic, integrated communications plans with Nike, Inc communications counterparts.
  • Build long term sustainable strategic communications plans for employee engagement, consumer x marketplace and executives to enhance storytelling
  • Originate new event formats across physical, digital and hybrid platforms and methods
  • Oversee agency relationships and cultivate new relationships with creative partners to ensure the experiences we deliver are best in class
  • Work collaboratively across the Employee Narrative & Experiences team, partnering with the Content & Editorial and Design teams to build cohesive plans
  • Be curious, try new things and suggest innovative solutions
  • Provide management oversight and technical expertise with various communication platforms, eg. Email, insights, survey systems
  • Integrate employee engagement across various Brand functions (including product, innovation, brand, SM, and EM) to drive storytelling both internally and externally.

Who you will work with
You'll be part of the Global Communications team for Jordan Brand, working closely with Global Brand and other key functions. You will interact with key city or geo teams, across consumer x marketplace and Jordan leadership team members.
What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Journalism, PR, English, Humanities, Sociology, Psychology, Communications, or related field
  • 5+ years professional experience in high profile corporate, agency, and/ or public relations roles supporting global brands with a strong preference for an emphasis on culture and sport.
  • 2 additional years of experience required in lieu of a degree
  • Solutions oriented, motivated by challenges with a positive self-starter attitude.
  • Possess a personal network among the creative community that can be leveraged for unique expertise, cultural knowledge, and creative partnerships
  • Proficient with messaging and materials - particularly adept at writing, flexible in various formats
  • A passion for sport and culture
  • Comfortable trying innovative approaches and strong professional agility.
  • Background and experience working in the footwear and apparel industry are beneficial but not crucial.
  • Proficiency in a second language is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in all media platforms is required.
