Lead Performance Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Lead Performance Engineer with 8+ years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of Performance Engineering, including requirements gathering, test script development, application monitoring, data analysis.
In addition to their technical skills, we are looking for a Lead Performance Engineer who is a team player and can lead by example. They will be responsible for fostering growth in junior team members and creating a positive and productive work environment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop test scripts, monitor applications, analyze reports, provide feedback and recommendations.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, identifying primary and secondary objectives, prioritizing time, and communicating timelines to all team members.
- Create and review technical design documentation, and provide leadership to team members, including constructive code reviews and design guidance.
- Work collaboratively with a team of passionate developers in a high-energy, fast-paced, and outcome-oriented environment.
- Lead a technical team by example and foster growth in junior team members.
- Understanding the application system and architecture and developing a plan and strategy for performance testing, then implementing the plan.
- Understanding and experience with a variety of performance testing methods (Load, Stress, Soak, etc.)
- Developing various tests and test scripts for application software, database upgrades, installation modifications, configuration, and infrastructure upgrades based on the performance of the E2E point.
- Analyzing test results, identifying optimization opportunities, and participating in performance test exit reviews.
- Designing and building processes to monitor if applications are performing in accordance with SLAs and measure performance.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related is preferred
Years of Job-Related Experience Required: 7+ years related experience
Technical/Other Skills Required:
- Expertise with at least one APM toolsets (AppDynamics, AWS CloudWatch, Azure AppInsights).
- Expertise in developing workload models, developing performance strategies, and implementing them.
- Expertise in defining Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) and strategies to achieve them.
- Expertise in JMeter, LoadRunner, and NeoLoad. Having some experience with WebLoad is preferred.
- Experience in resilience and reliability testing, high availability design, resilient architecture, scalability and capacity analysis, and SLA analysis.
- Experience testing APIs and web services (SOAP, REST, FTP, JSON, etc.).
- Understanding the End-to-End performance test process and knowing when and how to engage different teams, such as DBAs, developers, or system administrators.
- Ability to dissect multi-tiered systems and track data flow throughout an entire application stack
- Knowledge of application scalability and performance tuning (Web-based, n-tier and MQ)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and leadership skills

The salary range for this opportunity is $106,000 - $140,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience, among other factors.
