We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to lead and oversee the maintenance activities on the first shift in a fast-paced, high-volume food production environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of all production facilities, mechanical and hydraulic systems, as well as implementing preventive maintenance programs.
Responsibilities:
As a Lead Maintenance Technician, your key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee daily maintenance operations, including troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Implement and manage a robust Preventive Maintenance program to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety regulations, including Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of Maintenance Technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with production and quality control teams to identify and address potential issues that may impact product quality or production efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections of production facilities to assess their condition, identify necessary repairs or replacements, and plan maintenance work accordingly.
- Participate in the installation and setup of new equipment and automation systems, ensuring they are operational and compliant with safety standards.
- Manage maintenance records and documentation, ensuring all work is logged and reported accurately and timely.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a maintenance role within a food production or manufacturing environment.
- A strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems, as well as automation technology.
- Proven experience with preventive maintenance programs and practices.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety regulations, including Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of industrial equipment and systems.
- Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to lead and mentor a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams across the organization.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate potential issues and plan maintenance work accordingly.
- A high level of physical fitness, as the role involves manual work and the ability to lift heavy equipment.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A relevant certification or associate degree in a technical field is highly desirable.
