Lead Machine Operator

OPPORTUNITY: We are a folding carton manufacturing operation seeking a Lead Machine Operator to join our Winston Salm, NC team.

PAY RATE: $26.62 - $28.34/HR BOE Plus Sign on Bonus of $1,500

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB:

The Lead Operator is responsible for all phases of the operation. This includes general and preventative maintenance on machines, make-ready, running, wash-up, safety, quality control, production, housekeeping, coordination of work and training of operators and feeder/packers. Apply QMS principles and techniques effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Operate and maintain the machinery in a proper and efficient manner to achieve acceptable quality:

a. Set-up and adjust all machinery.

b. Perform general and preventative maintenance on all machines.

c. Train operators and feeder/packers in the operation and maintenance of machinery.

d. Assist maintenance mechanic in fixing any item beyond the scope of Lead Operator.

2. Coordinate and assist in carrying out instructions of daily schedules to complete all work in a timely manner.

a. Clarify questionable or omitted information from job ticket to assure accuracy of customer orders.

b. Present sample to management for approval to assure proper set-up and follow OK’d sample throughout production run.

c. Monitor all phases of the production process to achieve optimum quality and accuracy.

3. Maintain accurate records of material used or spoiled. Assist operators in maintaining this data.

4. Assure proper housekeeping and safety practices are followed.

5. Perform other related duties as directed by supervision. Perform supervisor duties in the absence of the supervisor.
