Summary of Position:
Accountable for accuracy of all lease and title information, participation and operating agreements, assignments, conveyances, pooling agreements, contracts, and other documents concerning operated and non-operated properties.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Lead in the planning and assignment of projects or tasks to personnel.
- Directing the team to better understand performance targets and goals.
- Training team members with less experience, and ensuring that analysts are properly equipped for their specific role.
- Providing feedback on worker performance.
- Providing reports and activity updates to Lease and Contracts Manager.
- Using prospect files, contracts/agreements, assignments, and leases, prepare and input lease data information and prepare documents to be set up in Bolo. Cross reference leases, contracts, and wells to insure each are properly on the Land system for ease in data retrieval; Note any missing documentation, proper execution, acknowledgements and recording data. Follow up on any significant issues, which are needed to complete the correct and marketable interests.
- Track prospect and joint venture activity about leasehold acreage, geological and geophysical work, and other management budget items. Coordinate requested information with appropriate accounting personnel for tracking and management updates.
- Work closely with area Landman and/or brokers to obtain/correct lease information and to monitor and update leases with special obligations including pugh clauses, continuous drilling, expirations, and extensions.
- Review monthly rental, contract and well recommendation reports, check for accuracy, circulate for approvals, recommend rental and/or minimum royalty payments and prepare records for payment.
- Conduct title review, chaining and updating title to ensure proper owner is paid and accounted for on lease records.
- Advanced knowledge of lease and contract terms and provisions.
- Ability to analyze and determine course of action autonomously.
- Follow safe operating practices and ensure compliance with CIVI Environment, Safety & Regulatory requirements.
- Assure work performed adheres to CIVI standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Preferred skills in data management, analysis and reporting.
- Advanced knowledge of Oil and Gas Lease provisions and general Land Department functions.
- Ability to be flexible, collaborative and professional under pressure and deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of standard industry contracts.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work with and keep confidential, sensitive information.
- Ability to train and mentor a variety of personnel.
- Preferred knowledge of Bolo Land Module System, including query proficiency.
- High level of diligence and attention to detail.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role will allocate projects, mentor, and work alongside a Civi Permian Division team in day-to-day Lease and Contracts deliverables. Has the knowledge and ability to properly train Lease and Contracts Analysts and Techs to successfully perform their job duties.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6-10 years of lease and Contracts Analyst related work history
- Permian Basin Experience preferred.
- Bolo Experience preferred.
Travel Requirements:
- Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
- Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
