This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis. Partial work-from-home flexibilities may be authorized.
Qualifications:We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as applying and interpreting the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA); reviewing, analyzing, and researching information assets for response to information requests; making release determinations and preparing responses to requesters and management; and implementing and distributing written privacy policies and procedures that promote commitment to privacy and/or access to information.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of Federal and Agency records management systems, regulations, principles and polices.
Knowledge of Government Information management laws, regulations, principles and policies, such as Freedom of Information Act and/or Privacy Act, applicable to a wide range of assignments involving the release of information to the public sufficient to establish, disseminate, and/or manage Government Information.
Skill in developing new or modified work methods to collect, manage, disseminate and maintain Government Information and data.
Skill in written communication.
Ability to coach a team in the selection and application of appropriate problem solving methods, techniques, practices and procedures.
Skill in oral communication.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
