Green Garden is seeking a passionate and dedicated Forest Preschool Lead Teacher to join our team! Our play based and nature focused preschool and child care center is launching a fully outdoors Forest Preschool program in April! We are looking for another early educator who is passionate about nature education to join our Forest Preschool team. As a Forest Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging outdoor learning experiences for children aged 3-4 years old. This is a half-day position where the entirety of the time is spent outdoors, exploring, playing, and learning amidst nature's wonders. You will utilize natural elements to create experiences intended to inspire a love for the environment and encourage holistic development.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate developmentally appropriate outdoor play invitations and experiences that align with our nature-based curriculum.
- Lead outdoor exploration sessions, guiding children in discovering and appreciating the natural world.
- Incorporate nature-based learning into all aspects of the preschool day, including playtime, crafts, and lessons.
- Foster a safe and nurturing outdoor environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and respect for nature.
- Provide individualized attention and support to meet the diverse needs and interests of each child.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and enriching preschool experience.
- Communicate regularly with parents, sharing insights into their child's progress, achievements, and experiences in the outdoor classroom.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.

A Qualified Lead Teacher must have a minimum of a CDA. We offer a starting pay of $15 to $18 an hour dependent on education and experience. Not qualified for a lead teacher position? Apply for an assistant teacher position with a starting pay of $12 to $14 an hour!
The position is Monday through Friday, from 8:30am-1:00pm. Class is in session Mon-Thur from 9am-12pm, and Friday is a planning and documentation day (Friday schedule may be flexible as long as weekly admin duties are completed.) This is a year round position, but will have school and holiday breaks built in. This program will take place at our Macomb campus, conveniently located at 23 Mile and Romeo Plank!
