Lead Edi Developer

The Lead EDI Developer ensures a comprehensive, current, and reliable strategy for electronic communications with internal and external business partners. This includes coordinating the activities of the EDI group to ensure that initiatives are aligned with the organization’s priorities and performed in compliance with established standards, procedures, and work processes. As a hands-on technical lead of the EDI team, the Lead EDI Developer will analyze, design, code, test, document, implement, support, and provide maintenance for both existing and future EDI/B2B interfaces.

This role requires working in an office environment (not hybrid or remote) at ConMet's corporate headquarters in Vancouver, Washington. Non-local candidates must be open to relocation (relocation assistance available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinates and performs business process assessment and analysis, gap analysis, systems design, and development for implementation of new and maintenance of existing EDI customers, transactions, communication protocols, and EDI solutions.
• Applies technical expertise, analytical thinking, open communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise between internal business units, external partners, and the EDI team.
• Collaborates with business units to gather business and data configuration requirements. Applies a solid understanding of business requirements to apply supporting solutions.
• Coordinates the efforts of the EDI team and monitors support queues to ensure timely implementations and resolution of issues.
• Responsible for EDI systems, architecture, and solution design.
• Coordinates the analysis, design, and implementation of workflow processes, timeframes, and resources.
• Organizes and maintains EDI documentation. This includes all specifications provided by business partners, business requirements, design documents and flows, test execution plans, and production deployment plans.
• Manages all EDI contracts and services.
• Actively participates in ongoing maintenance, testing, and governance of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Participates in the IT Change Management process to schedule and support all EDI related changes.
• Identifies and recommends emerging solutions to improve security, efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability.
• Performs capacity planning and analysis to ensure EDI solutions can support long term growth of data and applications.
• Ensures reliable and effective EDI operations by monitoring EDI production landscape and troubleshooting system issues/processes.
• Maintains awareness of the relevance and importance of activities and how each contributes to achieving quality objectives. Understands the importance of ensuring customer quality standards are met. Responsibilities may include the selection of special characteristics, setting quality objectives and related training, corrective and preventive actions, product design and development, capacity analysis, logistics information, customer scorecards, and customer portals.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Domestic and/or international travel required up to 5% of the time.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Information Technology or a closely related field followed by five (5) years of progressive EDI experience.

Experience must include:

• Five (5) years of EDI technical administration and operations support experience.
• Five (5) years of EDI document processing and standards experience.
• Five (5) years of experience with EDI connection implementation using various exchange formats (IDOC, EDIFACT, ANSI X12, XML, JSON, etc.).
• One (1) year of experience with Seeburger BIS 6.x Front End, Sterling Integrator, Gentrain Integration Suite, TIE Kinetix, or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of experience with Microsoft SQL database design, interaction, and maintenance; writing/executing T-SQL queries.
• Five (5) years of experience with data manipulation using global procedures, arrays, loops, and functions.
• Five (5) years of experience with file transfer protocols AS2, FTP, SFTP, OFTP, HTTPs, API, and VAN communication protocols.
• Demonstrated knowledge of:
  • SAP modules and processes (SAP ALE, IDOCs), underlying business processes of EDI connections to SAP; and
  • B2B document workflow.

Or
