Position Summary
The Lead Bartender at the Tropicana Pool & Rosy Café leverages creativity and passion to create a truly exceptional drinking experience for guests. The Lead Bartender will be responsible for the on-boarding and on-the-job training of Tropicana Pool & Rosy Café staff and will act as hands-on leader with some supervisory responsibilities as well.
- Participate as a collaborator and contributor in the creation of the Tropicana Pool & Rosy Café cocktail program.
- Mix and serve exceptional cocktails.
- Develop and master new cocktail recipes and innovative techniques.
- Provide guests with an unforgettable and personalized experience.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and bar etiquette.
- Partner with Tropicana Pool & Rosy Café and The Hollywood Roosevelt team to ensure seamless operations.
- Play a key role in managing and maintaining Tropicana Pool & Rosy Café inventory.
- Stay current with industry trends, brand selections, service techniques as well as The Hollywood Roosevelt food and beverage offerings.
- Develop and maintain positive communication and teamwork with all team members.
- Follow all policies and procedures put forth by The Hollywood Roosevelt.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
As a leader overseeing the Tropicana Pool & Rosy Café team, the Lead Bartender is expected to take on minor guest recovery situations. The position requires assisting with minimal comps, voids, and promotions as well. Responsibilities of on-boarding and on-the-job training of the team will be required.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proven experience as a skilled Bartender or Mixologist.
- Deep knowledge of ingredients and techniques used in bartending or mixology.
- Ability to craft unique and balanced cocktails that leave a lasting impression.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills to engage and interact with guests.
- Strong multitasking abilities and the capability to handle a high-paced environment.
- Creativity and a passion for pushing the boundaries of bartending.
- Understanding of responsible alcohol service and compliance with local laws and regulations.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Possess and maintain a strong level of menu knowledge, fine-dining service standards, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
- Skilled communicator and relationship-builder.
- Knowledge of traditional bartending practices and skills in maintaining a bar with business levels at high volume.
Education and Work Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and proven experience as a skilled bartender/ mixologist.
Previous Hospitality Industry experience preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
- TIPS/ RBS Trained and Certified Required
- ServSafe Certification Required
