Summary
The Associate Lead will ensure that our customers’ experience a great store shopping experience by providing first-line customer support. Serves as a lead during gaps created by store leadership for lunch periods or in the absence of Store Management and function as a Cashier/Stocker. Works collaboratively with store leadership to drive overall store performance. Associate Lead is a developmental role into the Key Holder position.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead Support - 50%

• Act in a lead support role in the absence of Store Management
• While serving as the lead, ensure meals and breaks are taken per company policy to include the following:
• Assist with customer and associate incident reporting
• Provides support and direction to associates and ensure company programs are executed.
• Drives the customer experience by performing refunds/exchanges, voids refunds/exchanges, and resolving customer issues.
• Accepts deliveries and ensures that merchandise is accurately received systematically
• Ensures scrap reduction programs are executed and recorded accurately if the scrap is needed
• Assisting in managing the company’s Hazardous Waste program and ensuring the safety and compliance of the store and associates.
• Support the execution of company directives by reviewing all communication channels and sharing information (email, 99 central, and task management)
• Ensure cycle counts are being completed accurately when assigned

Associate Duties- 50%

• Performing cross-functional front-end duties including cashiering, replenishment, and recovery
• Participates in the stocking process including truck unloading, breaking pallets, replenishment, merchandise presentation, and recovery
• Maintains appearance of the store’s interior and exterior to company standards including light maintenance duties and cleaning.
• Supports Hourly Safety Inspections for customer and associate safety
• Executes customer shoplifting policy
• Executes fresh department through proper rotation/replenishment, clean/organized, and accurate pricing
• Verify and correct pricing and signing to standards
• Performs other tasks as assigned by store leadership

Minimum Requirements

• Relocatable within the Market to step into any open Key Holder position
• 1 year of retail and/or customer service experience, preferably in a position requiring leadership abilities
• Freight handling and/or logistics experience preferred, but not required
• High energy and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with many freight shipments
• Ability and motivation to take full ownership of your responsibilities, including jumping in where needed and providing outstanding customer service
• High school diploma, or equivalent

Preferred Experience/Knowledge

• Prolonged periods standing and working on the cash register or related equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good customer service skills.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with existing devices such as cash registers, calculators, and scanners.
• Basic math skills are required to make changes and issue refunds.
• Knowledge of company products and services and customer-related policies.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods standing and working on the cash register or related equipment.
• Must be able to lift-up to 50 pounds at times.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
