POSITION:Lead Accountant
SUMMARY:
The Lead Accountant will assist the Controller in providing timely and accurate financial reporting for the company and its affiliates. This position will ensure accuracy of the data entry/bookkeeping of the AR, AP and Payroll Clerks and record the more technical transactions. The success of the Lead Accountant will heavily depend on sound financial keeping, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead the monthly financial close process.
- Assists as needed with A/R, A/P and Payroll clerks.
- Calculates and pays taxes.
- Oversees reconciliation of all accounts
- Reconciles general ledger accounts, understanding discrepancies and resolving timely.
- Complete general ledger entries including payroll.
- Assists Controller with preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Ensures that financial reports comply with accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Completes audits for workman’s compensation, property & liability insurance.
- Tracks fixed assets and ensures proper insurance coverage.
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures.
- Participates in regularly scheduled meetings.
- Takes a direct approach to any necessary duties to ensure timelines are met.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Mastery of QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online. Experience with ZOHO is desired.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required.
- Three years or more of related experience required.
COMPENSATIONEARNING POTENTIAL
Annual Salary $75-90 D.O.E.
- This is a mostly a REMOTE / work from home position but will sometimes require travel for meetings.
