- Hiring, training, motivating, and evaluating Accounts Payable staff members.
- Overseeing routine department activities to ensure that they are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintaining accurate and complete financial, employee, and client records.
- Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial information to management and government agencies.
- Setting and facilitating the achievement of department objectives.
- Developing, implementing, improving, and enforcing budgets, policies, and department controls to increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Building and maintaining relationships with employees, clients, vendors, and lenders.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret tenant leases, management agreements, financial narratives, partnership agreements, property escrow statements
- and other relevant accounting legal documents.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Property Managers, Controllers, Accounting Managers and Property Accountants
- Ability to see Property Accountants as individuals, as well as team members
- Ability to teach, mentor and coach Property Accountants – remain accessible
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Requires positive attitude and good interpersonal skills – always be approachable
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Requires a high level commitment to customer service, whether co-workers or clients
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratios and percentages
- Ability to identify and analyze problems with limited information – then, recommend more than one resolution alternative
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

- Minimum of an Associate degree (A.A.) from two-year college or university
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or in a similar position. or, equivalent combination of education and experience, Real Estate experience a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, management, or a related field.
- Experience may be preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting and management principles and Accounts Payable procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with computers, especially business solutions and bookkeeping software.
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze information and processes.
- Motivation to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
- Commitment to ethical behavior
